Wakui Emi plays Sakurai Kazumi. Kazumi went to New York. It was in New York that she became pregnant and raised her daughter as a single mother. Later, she learns that her father has taken ill. So she heads back to Japan and on her way, she meets Kaoru who was willing to pose as her fiance so that she didn't anger her father any more. She eventually falls in love with Kaoru.

Takeda Tetsuya plays the father of Kazumi, who raised his daughter by himself. When he realizes that his daughter wants to go to New York to study jewelry designing against his wishes, he was mad. So he sends a message that he has taken ill and may die soon so that his daughter will come back to Japan.
