During his university studies, Hiromi was a famous Olympic candidate swimmer. However, he had an injure just before the competition, and become a "Tragic Hero". Kaito and him became 'stranded' on the beach, where they made friends.

kaito suzuki (27)
Yutaka Takenouchi plays Kaito. At a young age, Kaito has been studying very hard, and following what others call the "elite" lifestyle in Japan. It is only during his days at the beach that he starts to discover his 'real' life and perhaps, the meaning of life too.

makoto izumi
Played by Hirosue Ryoko, she is daughter of Masaru Izumi and lives on the beach in Diamondhead. She also helps out with the small family business.

haruko maeda (26)
Role played by Izumi Inamori, she is an unwed mother who became separated from her child. Haruko is always waiting for her son's letter and hoping to do something for him. She also works in a snack bar where her friends like Kaito, Hiromi and Makoto sometimes hangout.

masaru izumi (62)
Played by Mike Maki is owner of the Diamondhead, a beach house resort. Masaru chooses to do what he likes and stays on the beach. His wife, Keiko, disliked the lifestyle and went to Tokyo, leaving her child, Makoto, under his care.
